Prof. Dr. Martin Mittwede, Professor of Comparative Religious Studies, refers in his lecture on the congress “Exploring the Limits of Consciousness” on 3rd of June 2018 in Bad Nauheim to the intercultural dimension of spiritual experiences. Different states of consciousness such as the awake state, dream state and deep sleep, clear dream, light hypnosis, deep hypnosis, out-of-body experiences, near-death experiences and mystical experience are part of every culture and can be compared by finding common essences.
